Fine, okay, Sansa/Sandor. BECAUSE a) ugggggggh and b) UGGGGGGH. Um, that roughly translates to THERE IS SUCH POTENTIAL FOR THEM IN THE FUTURE PROVIDED CERTAIN FAN THEORIES ARE RIGHT AND ALSO ALL I WANT IN THE WORLD IS FOR THOSE THEORIES TO BE RIGHT. And because the aforementioned beauty/beast weakness I have, plus also! She is totally going to be a pegging major, for starters, and the pairing I love more than anything in the world is pegging major/(awesome) faily guy, which THIS IS. Like. Buttttt Sherlock/Molly *_* except that Molly deserves someone who will actually give her time, attention, and consideration, and Sherlock is never ever ever ever ever ever ever going to be that dude. For Watson he will eventually be something like that dude (and is already well on his way there obviously) but in Sherlock’s world there is Sherlock, and then there is Watson, and then there is everybody else.

Uh. I have both the worst memory and the worst bookmarking habits so these are basically just the first re-readable favorites that come to mind:

  1. Tether (BBT) - one of very few fics I can think of that handles Sheldon’s (potential) asexuality really brutally well
  2. He’s The Good One (Go On, You Can Laugh) (VMars) - once upon a time if you’d told me I’d ever find Dick Casablancas a sympathetic figure… I clearly hadn’t read this yet
  3. Stiff Upper Lip (HP) - Augusta Longbottom. Oceans of crying all over my face omg
  4. Absurdity Theory (SGA) - Rodney/Zelenka, quacking. I can’t
  5. Journal: 1999 (XF) - Okay I can’t vouch for the quality of this because I haven’t read it in years but this was literally the only thing I read for like three months one winter (and once every month or so after that). Hardcopy. From a dot matrix printer in the computer lab
  6. this is not a chick flick (Greek mythology) - was this one of the fics that ate Yuletide one year? Because it is literally amazing. Hades/Persephone, adorable, sparkling, everything is *_____* and nothing hurts

Aside from the rape and abuse stuff, which was enough on its own to send me running, I thought the translation was really stilted and the story boring. I ragequit about halfway through, though!

15: If you could be reincarnated as any animal, which would you chose and why? A cat! Because I am boring and they’re my favorite. But I want to be a rich cat-person’s cat so I don’t have to eat garbage. Unless I want to.

24: What celebrity do you idolize the most? I don’t know if idolize is the right word, but I always admired Hunter S Thompson’s dedication to breaking as many rules and sticking it to as many authority figures as possible. And though it eventually led to a lot of misery for him, it’s amazing that he retained his idealism for as long as he did.

How I feel about this character

  • MOLLY HOOPER:
     
  • Spock: Spock is probably my second-ever space boyfriend. Which makes him third fake celebrity (fictional) boyfriend, after Han Solo and Indiana Jones. (We won’t get into the nonfictional division.) Ugh I love all the versions of him but the Nimoy!versions the most. (And the Diane Duane/AC Crispin/DC Fontana/Josepha Sherman/Susan Schwartz novels oh my god these ladies *_* if you haven’t read these ladies you are MISSING OUT.) So, basically, see gif above and multiply it by about 25 years.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

  • MOLLY HOOPER: /happiness, first and foremost. And then /Sherlock, /Moriarty, /John, /Lestrade, /Mycroft, /Sarah, /Anthea. And /Sally. Not /Anderson, though. Never Anderson.
  • Spock: Um, I don’t really ship Spock with anyone but Saavik or Chapel. I like Spock/Uhura, but I prefer the TOS versions to the Reboot versions. 

My non-romantic OTP for this character

  • MOLLY HOOPER: um. Happiness? Idk. I feel like idk enough about her yet to have one. I want to know more about the people she mentioned in her blog though.
  • Spock: JAMES TIBERIUS KIRK. They’re forever and ever, amen.

My unpopular opinion about this character

  • MOLLY HOOPER: There’s nothing shameful or pathetic about loving someone when you know they don’t feel the same way. Especially when you know they don’t feel the same way. I get Mrs White-from-Clue levels of angry about the vein of Molly-shaming running through fandom over that. UGH. 
  • Spock: Um. Attempting pon farr with an unbonded human is probably all kinds of a terrible idea, fannish tropes to the contrary.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

  • MOLLY HOOPER:  I WANT EVERYTHING.
  • Spock: three words: Saavik’s secret baby.

The first layout only works if you assume both the kitchen and the stairway windows are now interior windows (pink/red being the original house, blue being the add-on), but I think maybe that’s possible? Anyway if the window thing does work, I feel like this makes the most sense, especially for Sherlock’s bedroom. The middle layout feels increasingly unlikely since Sherlock’s bedroom would have to be the width of a door + a refrigerator, unless the stair window is interior? idk, I feel like even that might be unlikely given how we see Sherlock’s bedroom is oriented in Scandal, plus to jive with Scandal there would have to be another hall.. The third one works if you assume Mrs Hudson knocked out a couple of walls and built some kind of extension between the original building and a second building in the back (Ish mentioned this might be mews?). Bonus for no interior windows, lol. first one seems most likely but for the windows! (poison ivy!bathers 4 lyfe?) and three could work too, but in watching 2x03 another trillion times I noticed that there is one visible closed door (on left) and what looks like the top of the frame of another (at back) through the open doorway off the back of the kitchen and what looks like light spill from a large unseen window on the right, which would be the same outdoor space we see in the kitchen window (unless that’s sherlock’s room and all the windows are interior??) i’m really starting to be convinced that the stairwell window is an interior one, unless mrs hudson’s rooms aren’t as wide as the upstairs and there’s an exit to the garden under the (floating????) bathroom lol omg why can’t i stop

“Sherlock,” John said one day as he went to shower in Sherlock’s bathroom, which was something he did. “Sherlock, why is there poison ivy in the bathroom?”

“Mrs Hudson put it there to cover the interior window,” Sherlock remarked, and went back to smoking sensuously in the Spanish-style courtyard.

“About that,” John said. “I’ve been meaning to ask why there’s a window between the bathroom and the hall.”

“Oh, I think Gay Watson put it there so he could watch me bathe,” Sherlock said.

“Right. That makes perfect sense,” John said, and went to check that he had enough storage for his wives.

“John!” Sherlock called. “Make sure you shut the six kitchen doors behind you!”

As John climbed out of the clawfoot tub Sherlock kept in his bedroom, he thought about telling Sherlock to close the nine kitchen doors on his own, but then decided it’d get done more quickly if he did it himself.

Then John went across the hall and bought a sandwich at Speedy’s, because he deserved a sandwich because feelings.

  1. I’ve lived in ten different houses/apartments in only one state.
  2. The farthest I’ve ever been from home is Tokyo.
  3. Both sets of grandparents were married for 50+ years and my parents have been together for 34. I’ve never had a serious long-term relationship.
