okay, what the fuck. just because a character type has a shitty lot in life in a FICTIONAL UNIVERSE does not make it okay that another adaptation of that fictional universe TREATS THAT CHARACTER TYPE LITERALLY LIKE A PIECE OF MEAT. THOSE ARE NOT THE SAME THING.

why is this so fucking difficult? game of thrones adds random naked women to scenes that operate exactly the same WITH AND WITHOUT THEM and that is 

O B J E C T I F I C A T I O N

because it reduces those women to inanimate objects. they’re goddamn props. i don’t understand why these fucking lunkheads keep arguing this like it’s a negotiable point. IT’S NOT A NEGOTIABLE POINT. THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF OBJECTIFICATION: REDUCING PEOPLE TO THEIR VALUE AS OBJECTS OF USE BY OTHERS, IN THIS CASE: SEXUALLY DESIRABLE NON-ENTITIES. JFC.

okay not actually all asoiaf all the time because i can’t bring myself to go into the tags this week. i loved this epsiode SO MUCH and even though some of it was disappointing as a book reader with my own darlings that i don’t want the show to kill, i can’t bear to look at what the jabbering horde is saying about it because LOL MOAST SENSITIVE. but also because i’ve let myself get totally sucked into arguing about objectification of women in the show with a different jabbering horde and it’s leeched most of the life right out of me and i’ll just be over here lying on the floor chewing on my hands and watching a video i’m going to make for myself of all the times rory mccann gets to be an actual badass as the hound. on repeat. for days.

27 May 12 1 note Day Thirty | Your Headcanon Endgame: >:( I’ve been trying during this whole 30-days thing to be as spoiler-free as possible, because a lot of you still haven’t read or don’t plan to read the series, so I can’t do this question justice except to say that my headcanon endgame fits GRRM’s stated intention of making it bittersweet. And ugh it is: there’s a Stark in Winterfell, but it’s the only Stark, and most of the ending is reflecting on everything that’s been lost along the way, and maybe I don’t even mean it’s a future ending, maybe I mean it’s a flashback ending to illustrate that the game never ends. So there. But I have a happy-sappy headcanon too, where everything is sunshine and light and alliances and wins and restorations and redemptions and like forty-five way marriages with romance and kissing and babies and true love and true knights and puppies and kittens and rainbows and the seasons back in balance and everyone throws up on themselves reading it because it’s too much.
