Fitzwilliam Darcy, Rock Star

Holy shit, save yourselves. Do not engage. DO NOT.

Published P&P band AU, what could go wrong, right? ANSWER: EVERYTHING. After the author’s note where she lists all the songs it originally included when it was a self-pub fic before she wrote original ones so she wouldn’t get sued (SONGFIC. HELP.), the next billion pages are a pseudo-transcript of a Behind the Music knockoff that’s as tedious as it is precious, and then I woke up in puddle of my own vomit.

So.

  • Rule 1 - Post the rules.
  • Rule 2 - Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post and then make 11 new ones.
  • Rule 3 - Tag 11 people and link them to your post.
  • Rule 4 - Let them know you’ve tagged them.

Questions from rraaaarrl and then questions from me! And I’m skipping rule 4 because I DO WHAT I WANT TOO.

BFF
starring Cobie Smulders, Kristen Bell, and Zoe Saldana, for @peasantings
SONG: Galapaghost - Rise & Fall

In high school, Janie (Saldana), Kaitlyn (Smulders), and Raya (Bell) were inseparable. They did it all: newspaper and yearbook, varsity soccer, homecoming court, the spring musical. They shared everything, secrets and crushes and homework, right up to their joint graduation party and mutual coordinated breakups with their respective sweethearts. Even their yearbook mottoes matched—Who needs a date when you’ve got a best friend?—but they went their separate ways for college. Separated by hundreds of miles, the three best friends slowly drifted apart.
When a reunion looms, they decide it’s time to reconnect. Before Janie starts her new job in the Senator’s office. Before Kaitlyn moves to New York to try her luck. And before Raya finally starts a family with her new wife.
One last blow-out. That’s the plan. A “single ladies” week, full of almost everything they always planned to do, during all those giggly late nights over a bottle passed back and forth behind the stadium. They’ll leave their lives behind, just for one week. No consequences. No shame.
What could possibly go wrong?

L: Libraries! Who ever came up with the idea for libraries? Well, not just libraries, but lending libraries. Whoever decided that you should be able to walk into a building and walk out with a book you could keep until you were done reading it was the best person ever (unless they were a terrible person in ways that inventing the modern library can’t excuse).

M: Project Mercury (shhhh it counts as M), which was the first US human spaceflight program!

F: F A K E - M A R R I E D. Best trope. Best trope. Oh my god best trope and everyone should give me all the fic and book and movie and tv recs ever :D :D

A: Alexandrite. The first time I saw it was at a super crowded gemstone exhibit at a natural history museum and I lingered so long at the case that the people in line behind me threatened to call a guard to have me kicked out. Lol whoops.

O: Obscenities. I mean, come on.

4. What I find attractive in members of the opposite sex
Right now it’s facial hair. Not, like, hipster neckbeard monstrosities or ill-advised goatees or cheesy 70s pornstaches but just a nice bit of too-lazy-to-shave weekend proto-beard scruff or even a well-maintained actual beard. It’s kind of a new thing that I don’t understand.

6. My biggest insecurity
Right now it’s that I’m never going to write something worth sharing ever again

13. My pet peeves
You know how sometimes you get sucked into a conversation with someone who seems really cool, like they’re into what you are and oh wow maybe this is someone you’re going to hang out with sometimes yay it’s so awkward trying to make friends and here is one! And then they bust out a little “that’s why they should kick out all the Mexicans” or “and all lesbians are thieves and liars who are going to hell” or “I’m never going to register to vote because who gives a shit, right?” and you’re like, UGGGGH GTFO. That is my biggest pet peeve and it happens WAY TOO OFTEN.

A book I actually recently read! How did you like it?

I liked it! It was a super fast read and it’s the first in a new series, I think, which YAY I LOVE SERIES HISTORICALS. And it’s hard to go wrong with a Julia Quinn book when you want something fun, right?

Except when I went to add it to Goodreads, I literally had no memory of the plot or the title or even character names. So. That’s probably not a glowing recommendation :|
