Except Pally (Carlyle) is coming for him first. There’s nothing right or proper about the dreamer’s end. Nothing in nature or science that justifies it. Pally’s one of hundreds, thousands, raging in the dark to turn back the tide.

Even their yearbook mottoes matched—Who needs a date when you’ve got a best friend?—but they went their separate ways for college. Separated by hundreds of miles, the three best friends slowly drifted apart.

When a reunion looms, they decide it’s time to reconnect. Before Janie starts her new job in the Senator’s office. Before Kaitlyn moves to New York to try her luck. And before Raya finally starts a family with her new wife.

One last blow-out. That’s the plan. A “single ladies” week, full of almost everything they always planned to do, during all those giggly late nights over a bottle passed back and forth behind the stadium. They’ll leave their lives behind, just for one week. No consequences. No shame.

During her convalescence, Ellie’s entire existence shrinks down to the blinking cursor and the people she watches from her windows. When her boyfriend, Lyle Fremon (Idris Elba), announces he wants to move in—the better to keep her in one piece—Ellie’s glad for the company. It’s almost like living out the romantic comedy that’s finally coming together on her computer screen.

Until the bodies start tumbling from the block of flats across the way.

On New Year’s Eve, a snowstorm blankets the city, shutting down roads across the city.

At the airport, four women wait for their chance to go home: Annabel (Thomas) to the woman she’s not sure she wants anymore, Carrie (Smulders) to a family she hardly recognizes, Yvonne (King) to wedding plans and feuding relatives, and Elise (Fairley) to the son who’s become a stranger.

Leave me two or more actors and I will come up with a graphic/poster and synopsis for a fake film (or, you know, a show or mini series or something)!

By the stroke of midnight on August 7, 2149, the Rising will fall.

Three (Tyler) has already run the projections. In a matter of hours, the last of the rebellion will be crushed, right there in the Angeleno Valley where it began. For the nameless like her, the long game is almost over. When the Loyalist Army announces their victory, she’ll archive her work and turn her data over to the Director (Anderson). It’s nothing she hasn’t done a hundred times since the Rising began, but this time… This time the Director has promised she’ll finally be free to reclaim her name.

In the ruins high above the canyon, Kenner (Brody) waits. He’s out of food. Water. The power pack on his commbox is nearly drained. He used the last of his ammunition a week before. He’s been dead since then; it just hasn’t caught up to him yet. Gunships roar along the horizon, unleashing plasma waves that will burn long after his flesh falls away. Kenner tries one last time to make contact, sending the signal as far as the commbox will reach.

Hyo (Lee) knows there won’t be another chance after tonight. His contact in the Rising is dead. He saw the body himself, lying in the street outside the Low Council compound. The nexus is clogged with High Council propaganda; the few remaining voices of dissent are silenced. The end is closing fast. But Hyo has one last play to make. If he can get to the Hub, if he can bluff his way back inside, if he can get his wife to listen…

Mighty Sweet

Late in the afternoons, when rehearsals run long and Miss Piggy barricades herself in the dressing room, Kermit likes to ride his bicycle around the neighborhood and listen to people’s stories. After a few weeks, he notices that the florist, Shelley (Winslet), puts one perfect flower every day in a vase by the front door. “In case someone needs a peace offering,” she explains when Kermit asks.

Once upon a time, Shelley loved a man named Joe (Kim), who made candies as sweet as his smile. But Shelley did something dumb, she tells Kermit, like forgetting to compliment Piggy’s new hairdo, only much, much worse. And even though Joe said he forgave her, Shelley couldn’t forgive herself. So she left Joe and came to the city, where she opened her flower shop and tried to forget him.

Kermit can’t stop thinking about Shelley’s story or the sad look on her face whenever she says Joe’s name. When he barely reacts to Piggy firing most of Gonzo’s chickens or to Animal eating the big velvet curtains, the rest of the gang knows something’s wrong. Kermit has no choice but to let them in on his plan: he’s going to get Joe and Shelley back together, even if it means canceling the show!

One-time nightclub owner Cam Gallagher (Isaacs), fresh off a ten-year stint courtesy of the South Carolina Department of Corrections and his ex-wife’s lying tongue, is about to blow back into his hometown, Columbia, where former undercover cop Marie Sinclair (Gellar) is finally facing the end of rehab. She might even make it back onto the force — provided she can pass the mandatory psych eval and drug tests, that is.

Six months earlier, Marie’s incoherent, rambling, coke-fueled testimony and inevitable meltdown on the stand torpedoed prosecutor Adina Greene’s (Okonedo) already paper-thin case against Jenny Mercado (Park), Cam’s ex-wife. The latest in a long line of professional missteps and outright disasters, the mistrial was also the city’s last shot at putting the suspected serial killer behind bars. 

But Cam didn’t spend a decade of his life sporting dingy prison uniforms and powder painting industrial shelves to let Jenny walk away clean. He knows where all the bodies — literal and metaphorical — are buried and he’s going to make damn good use of them.

That’s if Marie, Adina, or Jenny doesn’t get there first.
